Harvest Time and New Faces

Happy Harvesting all,

fall scape 2013I love this time of year! The air is crisp, the sun is warm, and farmers are scrambling to pick the last of the veggies. Canning and jarring for the winter has commenced. Now it’s time to pick those pumpkins and gather the corn stalks. I love the smell of dry leaves, the herby scent of drying perennials, and how the hydrangea turn that lovely crimson-rose color. It seems all of nature is in the mood for a change of pace and gearing up to hibernate for the winter. The fall colors are in full show this week up in the Berkshires–just in time for our annual Granville Harvest Fair.

There’s face painting for the kids, apple pie with Granville’s famous cheddar cheese, and no shortage of unique gift ideas for Christmas. Visit the old Drum Factory or check out the amazing array of quilts and pottery up at the Old Town Hall across from the apple orchard on the hill.

And yes, I’ll be signing books all weekend (Saturday 10-5, Sunday 12-5, and Monday, 10-5). You’ll find me across from the General Store, situated near the entrance to the library, where there will also be a discount book sale in the basement if YA isn’t your thing but you’re looking to stock up on some good reads for winter. Be sure to stop by and say hi!

For those of you waiting patiently for book three in the Chronicles of Lily Carmichael trilogy, I’ve just finished the first draft and am diving into revisions. If all goes well with the editing process, HEALING WATERS will be available by Christmas. Woot!

I’m also working on a novella called SAMI’S CHRISTMAS WISH LIST, which will be part of a box set that will include HEAVEN IS FOR HEROES, ON THIN ICE, and PIECES OF LOVE–a wonderful gift for any lover of sweet romance and family drama. Stay tuned for a release date.

Since the characters all hail from the fictitious CT lake town of Somerville, where residing on Thompson Lake is like Pretty Little Liars climbing into a Norman Rockwell painting, the box set will be aptly named, THE GIRLS FROM THOMPSON LAKE. Sami is the trouble-making friend who plays a role in all three books but hasn’t had her own story yet. If you’ve enjoyed my other contemporary YA romances, you’ll love this heartwarming Christmas novella that joins the main characters from the other books into one sweet holiday read.

And if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, do it now to receive sneak peeks, release dates, and extras as soon as they become available.

Another exciting event this month is not one cover reveal, but four! Yes, I’ve freshened up my Lily Carmichael trilogy and Lily has a whole new face. Well…not really a whole new face. I’ve kept the same stock photo of Lily, but the cover art has gone through a beautiful, Kim Killion (of the Killion Group), transformation. She did an amazing job and I can’t wait to share the final covers with you, including the cover for HEALING WATERS. Since I love savoring the moment and building a bit of buzz around big news like this, I’ll be posting the new covers to my FB page, one a week, beginning Friday, October 10th. The final cover reveal for HEALING WATERS (my favorite of all of them) will happen on All Hallows Eve! October 31st.

If you’re not yet following me on Facebook, what are you waiting for? Stop over now and give my PJ Sharon Books page a “like” so you’ll see the updated covers as soon as they’re posted. Of course, you can always wait until next month and see them right here on my website when I’ve updated and added them to the new Chronicles of Lily Carmichael page, where, along with the new covers, you’ll find excerpts, reviews, playlists, and more. Make sure you subscribe to this blog over in the right hand sidebar so you can come back and check it out. (I generally only post to this blog once a month unless I have a promotion going on. Newsletters come out quarterly or if I have a new release to announce.)

In the meantime, I hope you’re getting outside to enjoy the refreshing fall weather and if you’re free this Columbus Day weekend, stop by and see me at the Granville Harvest Fair in Granville, MA. Mention you found me here on my website and receive a FREE download of WANING MOON, book one in the Chronicles of Lily Carmichael trilogy.

Peace and Blessings,

PJ
