In the Studio…

Hey Readers,

Can you believe how quickly January passed? I’m feeling the time warp thing again. Even so, I’m excited about this month. No, not only because I get to celebrate my birthday in a couple of weeks, but because there is so much happening!

Studio PicFirst up, I’m in a recording studio for the first time ever! My friend and neighbor, Ozone Pete, and I are recording the theme song to PIECES OF LOVE, a contemporary YA novel I plan to publish later this spring. Won’t it be cool to be able to click on a link within the e-book and hear me sing a song I wrote just for the book? Yes, I’m terrified! But I’m very happy with how the project is coming out. I’ll post more about the experience next time and you’ll all be the first to know when the song goes live to my YouTube channel and is available on iTunes. I plan to create a book trailer with the music as well, so once it’s all put together, I’ll have the big reveal right here.

I’m also teaching my very first Self-publishing workshop to writers at the local library in Granby, Ct. on February 13th–which will hopefully be more fun and entertaining than it sounds. I love sharing my experience with others, and helping writers achieve their dreams is both an honor and a privilege.

Since I just handed PIECES OF LOVE off to my editor, I can now devote all of my writing time to the third book in the Chronicles of Lily Carmichael series. Here’s what my latest readers have been saying about the first two books.

“P.J. Sharon masterfully paints a setting where the reader is instantly immersed not only in the story but directly into the story world. The characters have such depth that they become friends worth cheering. The story progression is fantastic. This is the new “must read” series!” Sarah Gonzalez, Addictive reads Reviewer

“WESTERN DESERT is as excellent as the first book in the trilogy. This dystopian/post-apocalyptic series should be as popular as the Hunger Games; it really is that good. The only reason it isn’t on everyone’s lips and on everyone’s Kindles is because as an indie author, Sharon does not have the backing of a big publisher, and that’s all the more reason why you should read this book and shout about it far and wide. It’s beautifully crafted, well-polished and a unique and powerful story. Books like this make liars of those who say that indie books are of lesser quality. This is far better than many mainstream books I’ve read.” Tahlia Newland, Awesome Indies

Not that I need any more excitement for this month, but my Scribes sisters and I just gave our blog a face lift and are planning some fun new ways to reach out to readers. I hope you’ll stop by and check it out, leave a comment about how you like the new look, and subscribe if you like what you see. “Like” us on FB, follow us on Twitter or share our posts with friends if you find them interesting (the posts…not your friends). We’re cutting our blogging down to 2-3 a week and will share duties, rotating days to give readers variety. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my writing family? Without them–and all of you–I’d be here all alone  spending my free time playing marathon games of Scrabble against my computer or yelling at the TV commercials. It could be fun, but I suspect it would get ugly fast, LOL.

Lest I forget that all important romance holiday, I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with my sweet, handsome hubby. I’m not sure what we have planned, but if it’s up to me, we might be attending a couples yoga class…just sayin’ honey!

What are you doing for Valentine’s Day?

As always, I love hearing from readers and fans. Feel free to leave comments or contact me if you have questions about what I’m doing, where I’ll be next, or how I can help you achieve your dreams. Thanks for being here with me!

Peace and Blessings,

PJ

  1. What? You SING too? Wait while I bask in your awesomeness! You never cease to amaze me. Wish I lived closer so I could take your class. Perhaps you should consider a workshop proposal to RWAU? Can’t wait to see/hear this latest endeavor.

    • Thanks, Harley! I’ve been accused of bumping all of my siblings out of line to get all the talent genes, LOL. Honestly, though, I think it’s more likely that I got the “stick-to-it-iveness” gene, which is really far better:-) Once I nail down all the particulars of teaching the course to “real humans”, I’ll put together a proposal to teach some online courses. I appreciate your interest and your basking! Maybe we can meet up at an RWA conference one of these years:-)

    • At least it’s a worthy cause:-) I’m still paying for last year. Ugggh!
